Exporters and importers probably ask more questions about Incoterms than about any other element of the export transaction. Incoterms, INternational COmmercial TERMS, are the most basic contractual component of an export transaction. Without a reference to Incoterms such as FOB, FCA, CIF, an export contract may be virtually meaningless because it will lack the clear allocation of transport responsibilities, among other items.
