In this research, two approaches have been taken in order toexamine the structure of Turkey’s citrus fruit export from the viewpointof the EU. The one is the evaluation of Turkey’s and the EU’s citrus fruitexport structure via the macro data, and the other is the definition ofproblems occurring in Turkey’s citrus fruit export, via the survey with allcitrus fruit exporters in İzmir.The EU Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and the Fruit andVegetables Common Market Organisation (CMO), Turkey must adaptfor the accession, have been analysed from the viewpoint of Turkey’scitrus fruit sector’s adaptation, and the problems that might take place inthe progress have been discussed in the study. Having regard to the futureof Turkey’s citrus export concerning the EU progress, the projections andevaluations have also been made for the alternative citrus markets exceptthe EU countries. It has been concluded that having benefits fromVIIITurkey’s citrus production and export potential is depended on such anexport structure that well-organised, based on high quality product andmarket stability principles. Furthermore, in the research, the problemsthat impede an effective citrus export structure have been defined andsolutions inclined towards those problems have been given.Key Words: Turkey, Citrus Fruit Export, European Union, EU
