ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS This book is the outcome of 8th Astana Economic Forum, which was held in Astana, Kazakhstan on May 21-22, 2015. International Turkic Academy and Caspian Strategy Institute (HASEN) co-organized a session named "Caspi- an Transit Corridor. Infrastructure Development and Economic Cooperation" with the support of Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The main goal of such an organization was to draw attention to cooperation and infrastructure development within the Caspian Region to enhance connec- tivity between and among countries and to facilitate intraregional trade via de- veloping one of the main transport routes on the east-west axis between Asian and European continents. Many bureaucrats, experts and diplomats from the countries of the Caspian Region; Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Iran and also Turkey, contributed to the panel as speakers and discussants. Speech- es of the attendees of Astana Economic Forum are re-organized to be published in this volume. In addition, many other experts and bureaucrats who did not have a chance to attend to the panel in Astana, were given place in this volume to add more dimensions of the topic and provide detailed discussion of Caspian Transit Corridor.
